Jabalpur, June 16 -- A 27-year-old woman passed away from COVID-19 on Sunday, a day after giving birth at the Jabalpur Government Medical College and Hospital. The woman, a resident of the neighboring Mandla district, had a history of lung ailments, according to Joint Director of Health, Dr. Sanjay Mishra.
Dr. Mishra explained that the woman had been admitted to the hospital on Friday for delivery. She gave birth to a baby on Saturday but soon developed lung complications. Following this, a COVID-19 test was conducted, and the result came back positive. The woman was immediately moved to the isolation ward, where she succumbed to the virus.
