BOKARO, Feb. 27 -- Police in Bokaro's Petarwar region have arrested three individuals, including the mother of an 8-year-old girl and her lover, for the child's murder following a nine-month investigation. The case, which began with the girl's disappearance from a wedding in May, has left the local community in shock.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Manoj Swargiary confirmed the arrests of Reena Devi, the victim's mother; her lover, Babu Das Murmu; and an accomplice, Shivnarayan Besra. Investigations revealed that Reena Devi was in a relationship with Murmu, whom she met on Facebook. The young girl reportedly opposed this relationship, which police believe was the primary motive behind her murder.
