BHOPAL, Feb. 15 -- This year, the winter clothing market has been deeply affected by a buoyant mercury, resulting in unsold stock and financial losses for both permanent and temporary shops in various areas of the city.

Shopkeepers at the seasonal winter market near Lily Talkies in Jahangirabad say their sales have been severely impacted by an early summer this year.

Shopkeeper Zubair Khan says, "The cold subsided by January, leading to a drop in clothing sales. This season, washing and bomber jackets were in the highest demand. However, customer footfall was not as expected. Online shopping has also negatively affected business."
