Bhopal, May 31 -- The wholesale medicine market on the busy Hamidia Road will close for the day at 8 PM starting June 2, the decision was announced by the Bhopal Chemists Association.
Previously, several shops stayed open late into the night, which occasionally led to safety concerns. The fixed closing time aims to reduce such incidents by regulating business hours.
Association President Jitendra Dhakad said the timing change followed consultation with all chemists. A meeting was held, and a WhatsApp vote saw majority support for an 8 PM closure.
A committee, including market representatives, was then formed to finalise the decision. After discussions with chemists and officials, the new closing hour was confirmed.
