Bhopal, May 13 -- Over the past four months, road accidents across Madhya Pradesh - many involving wedding guests and pilgrims - have claimed scores of lives, exposing glaring gaps in road safety vigilance during festive and high-travel seasons. Bhopal, though relatively safer than some districts, has witnessed its own share of fatal crashes, signalling the need for urgent, coordinated action by RTOs and traffic police.
On April 21, six people died after the vehicle they were travelling in crashed into a culvert before veering into a ditch on the Bhopal-Jabalpur road in Raisen. The bride and groom sustained injuries in the accident.
