Ujjain, July 7 -- While the bypolls in Madhya Pradesh are approaching fast, a war of words erupted as former Chief Minister Uma Bharti launched scathing attack on her predecessor Digvijay Singh on Monday.

Bharti had on Monday reached Mahakal temple in Ujjain and performed puja on the commencement of auspicious month of savan.

Later, speaking to the media persons, the firebrand leader bashed senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh whom she had trounced in 2003, ending her ten-year rule in the State. Bharti claimed, "In year 2003, I had tranquillised Lion of Raghogarh and he could not move anywhere after my shot."
