Ayodhya, May 26 -- Cricketer Virat Kohli and actor Anushka Sharma paid a surprise visit to Ayodhya early Sunday morning, offering prayers at the Ram Janmabhoomi temple and Hanuman Garhi shrine. The couple arrived at the temple premises around 7 am and spent nearly 10 minutes inside the sanctum sanctorum, where they offered prayers to Ram Lalla. However, no official photographs of the couple inside the temple have been released.
According to Ashutosh Tiwari, the Chief Officer of the Ram Janmabhoomi temple, Kohli and Sharma were escorted inside under special protocol. Senior priest Santosh Tiwari welcomed the couple by draping them in traditional Ramnami stoles.
