India, Sept. 8 -- BJP leader and former union minister Vijay Goel has criticised the guidelines issued by the UP Government on stray dogs and said the new rules deviate from the Supreme Court's mandate by involving dog feeders in the crucial decision-making process for feeding zones.
Goel said he will write to UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath as the guideline issued by the Principal Secretary's office of the UP Government is not in line with the Supreme Court order.
The State's Urban Development Department recently released a circular formalising designated feeding zones, bolstering animal birth control (ABC) programmes, and establishing local conflict-resolution committees.
