Jamshedpur, July 12 -- Following orders of closure of vegetable markets in three urban civic body areas - Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee ( JNAC), Mango Notified Area Committee ( MNAC ) and Jugsalai Municipality from 3 pm of Saturday to 7 pm of Sunday, a drive was launched to sanitise the vegetable markets.
The step was taken as the vegetable markets drew a huge crowd due to its location on the main roads, which posed a risk to public health amid the coronavirus outbreak. Markets at Sakchi, Kadma and other key places were sanitized. The move is also aimed at ensuring appropriate social distancing at the markets in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.
