India, Nov. 11 -- Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on Monday, said that singing Vande Mataram would be made compulsory in all schools and educational institutions across the State. Speaking at Vande Mataram mass singing event in Gorakhpur, the CM said the move aimed to instill a sense of reverence and pride towards the nation. In a message to all those who oppose singing the song, the CM said that such attempts were part of a "conspiracy to give birth to a new Jinnah". He also said the national song should be sung in all schools and colleges in the state.
