India, Sept. 19 -- Two persons died and at least eight are missing following flash floods caused by heavy rains in Nandanagar area of Chamoli district during the wee hours of Thursday. Dozens of homes and cowsheds were also damaged in the disaster. Kuntari Lagafali, Kuntri Laga Sarpani and Dhurma villages were worst hit by the disaster in the area. This is the second major disaster in the State after the Dehradun floods witnessed on Tuesday.

According to information from the State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC), information was received that heavy rain was witnessed at about 3am on Thursday at Kuntari Lagafali due to which six persons were reported missing, buried in debris.
