Jammu, June 15 -- The Jammu and Kashmir administration, led by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, has announced the phased reopening of tourist destinations in the Kashmir Valley starting June 17, 2025, following a gradual increase in tourist footfall spurred by the recent launch of the Vande Bharat Express.

The move aims to revive the region's vital tourism sector, which faced significant disruptions after the deadly April 22, 2025, terror attack in Pahalgam that claimed 26 lives and led to the closure of 48 out of 87 tourist spots across the Valley.
