Jamshedpur, March 31 -- In a fierce police encounter late last night ended the criminal saga of dreaded gangster Anuj Kanaujia, who was gunned down under the Govindpur police station area. The joint operation by the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) and Jharkhand Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has sent shockwaves across the Steel City, marking a major victory against organized crime.
Acting on intelligence, the UP STF tracked Anuj's hideout in Govindpur and coordinated with Jharkhand ATS for the operation. As security forces surrounded the area, Anuj opened fire on the police. In retaliation, the UP STF shot him down. He was later taken to MGM Medical College Hospital, where doctors formally declared him dead.
