Lucknow, June 5 -- In a significant step toward boosting farmers' income and promoting green energy, the Uttar Pradesh Government is set to launch a first-of-its-kind policy to establish industrial units for producing bio jet fuel from agricultural residues such as sugarcane bagasse, paddy husk, and wheat straw.

This initiative is expected to directly benefit nearly 2.5 crore farmers in the State by creating a new market for agricultural waste and surplus grains.
