Lucknow, Feb. 5 -- The Yogi government is modernising hostels run by the Social Welfare department across Uttar Pradesh, focusing on infrastructure, cleanliness, and security, officials said.

With Rs 8 crore allocated, 15 hostels in eight districts will be renovated to enhance student facilities and living conditions.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath envisions providing high-quality residential facilities to students from economically weaker and marginalised communities, enabling them to focus on their education, officials said.

Hostel facilities such as nutritious meals, clean drinking water, libraries, Wi-Fi, and sports infrastructure are being upgraded to support this goal. The government is prioritising hygiene, security, quality food,...
