Varanasi, Feb. 12 -- Varanasi witnessed an unprecedented influx of visitors, causing massive traffic congestion across the city and its highways. According to police estimates, around 12 Lakh people arrived from outside, bringing with them more than 60,000 vehicles. This marked the highest single-day surge of visitors in Kashi's history.

With the municipal corporation area's population standing at approximately 15 Lakh, the city found itself overwhelmed, resembling a 'Maha jam' (massive traffic jam).
