New Delhi, Jan. 11 -- After a week of deliberations aimed at diffusing tension between students and administration of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) not yielding any desired result, the MHRD Ministry on Friday stated that the university has agreed to meet all the demands of the students' representatives, except for their demand of resignation of Vice Chancellor Professor Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar.

While HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' said he is "distressed" over the involvement of JNU students in the violence as pointed out by the Delhi Police.
