Neemuch, June 20 -- Heavy rainfall since Wednesday night has thrown life out of gear across Neemuch district, with rivers and streams overflowing and creating hazardous conditions in several areas. A major tragedy was narrowly averted in the Manasa region on Thursday, when two motorcycle riders were swept away while attempting to cross a flooded culvert. They were rescued in time by alert local villagers.
Mahesh Tosawat, a resident of Aantari Mata village, was returning home from Rampura with his nephew Deepak Tosawat and a goat on a motorcycle.
On their way back, they reached a culvert between Semli Aantari and Dethal villages, where rainwater was gushing over the structure due to heavy overflow.
