Ranchi, June 24 -- In a heartbreaking incident, a man and his wife tragically lost their lives after the roof of their old, crumbling house collapsed during heavy rainfall in Rasoia Dhamna Baratola village, located under Barhi police station in Hazaribagh district.
The victims, 52-year-old Habib Ansari and his 48-year-old wife Jumera Khatoon, were asleep in their bedroom on Sunday night when the roof gave way under the relentless rain, trapping them beneath the rubble.
Local residents quickly responded, managing to pull the couple from the debris and rushing them to the Barhi Sub-Divisional Hospital. Unfortunately, doctors there pronounced both of them dead on arrival.
