Jammu, April 6 -- Two heavily armed terrorists from Pakistan were gunned down by the alert troops of the Indian army along the line of control in the Uri sector of North Kashmir's Baramulla district on Friday.

This is the first major infiltration bid attempted from across the line of control in the run-up to the Lok Sabha polls beginning from April 19.

According to a statement issued by the Srinagar-based Chinar Corps. "Alert troops deployed on LoC foiled an Infiltration bid on Friday at Sabura Nala, Uri Sector where two terrorists have been eliminated".
