Ujjain, June 15 -- A two-day Ujjain Saur Urja Mela commenced today with the objective of raising awareness about the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana (PMSGMBY) and encouraging the adoption of rooftop solar energy among residents.
Inaugurating the event, Mukesh Tatwal, Mayor of Ujjain, emphasised the importance of switching to renewable energy and highlighted the benefits of the central government's rooftop solar subsidy scheme. "The PMSGMBY subsidy makes rooftop solar affordable and easy to install. Residents of Ujjain should utilise this opportunity to reduce electricity bills while contributing to a greener environment," he said.
