Garhwa, March 28 -- In Birajpur, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Ramkanda police station, a woman was tragically killed after being trampled by a herd of elephants, on Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as 60-year-old Devmani Devi, a resident of Birajpur village and the wife of Ramjeet Singh.
According to reports, the incident occurred at approximately 6:30 am while the woman was gathering mahua flowers in the forest near her home, accompanied by her grandchildren. A herd of elephants suddenly emerged, making loud trumpeting sounds. The grandchildren, upon seeing the approaching elephants, warned their grandmother and ran to safety.
