New Delhi, June 9 -- In a move to ease traffic, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) will build a tunnel worth '3500 crore connecting Nelson Mandela Marg in Vasant Kunj to Shiv Murti interchange, Mahipalpur. The 4.9 km tunnel will be part of the National Highway 148AE and is intended to provide a direct, bypass route for traffic heading towards or from Gurugram and the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA).
Announcing this, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has approved six major infrastructure projects in Delhi.
