USA, Sept. 13 -- American President Donald Trump on Saturday intensified his criticism of NATO allies over their continued purchases of Russian oil, claiming such actions undermine efforts to end the war in Ukraine. In a post on Truth Social, Trump said the war could end swiftly if NATO imposed a complete ban on Russian energy imports, calling the alliance's current stance "shocking" and insufficient.
"It greatly weakens your negotiating position and bargaining power over Russia," Trump wrote, accusing NATO of being less than fully committed to defeating Moscow. He also warned that China, the top buyer of Russian energy, could face tariffs ranging from 50% to 100% unless it halts oil imports from Russia.
