KOCHI, May 30 -- With 874 persons testing positive on Friday, the number of persons afflicted with coronavirus in Tamil Nadu reached 20,246. The only consolation for the authorities is the number of patients discharged from various hospitals in the State. Friday saw 765 persons getting cured and discharged from hospitals and this made the total number of active cases in the State as 8,776.
Nine persons were declared dead on Friday and the fatalities reached 154 all over the State. The efforts by the Government to contain the pandemic continued without any hold back as 71 laboratories were working round-the-clock to test the samples.
