Jammu, June 5 -- A multi-layered security apparatus has been put in place across Jammu and Kashmir ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's historic visit to Katra on June 6, to inaugurate the world's highest railway bridge, the Chenab Bridge and flag off the much-anticipated Vande Bharat Express train service between Katra and Srinagar.

This is the Prime Minister's first visit to the Union Territory since Operation Sindoor, in response to the deadly April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives, mostly tourists.
