India, Oct. 10 -- The Crime Branch of Delhi Police seized a large consignment of prohibited foreign cigarettes worth around Rs 10 lakh and arrested three men involved in the illegal trade.
The seizure included 77,200 cigarettes of premium international brands like Dunhill, Davidoff Gold, and Davidoff White, none of which carried the mandatory health warnings required under Indian law.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Aditya Gautam said, "The team acted swiftly on specific intelligence and intercepted the consignment before it could be circulated in the market. These cigarettes are part of an illegal trade that bypasses health laws and causes huge revenue loss to the government."
