Bhopal, June 8 -- A tense situation unfolded late Friday night in Mandideep after a truck carrying buffaloes was intercepted by a group of local residents near the National Highway in front of Galla Mandi. The truck, allegedly on its way to a slaughterhouse in Bhopal, was stopped around 10:45 PM, sparking an uproar when a large number of buffaloes were found tightly packed inside.
Members of the Hindu community, who were part of the group that intercepted the truck, unloaded the animals and began raising religious slogans, including "Jai Shri Ram," which further fueled tensions in the area.
