Ranchi, Feb. 24 -- On 22 February 2025, information was received about some workers from Jharkhand and other states being trapped in the Srisailam Left Bank Canal Tunnel accident in Nagarkurnool district of Telangana. On the instructions of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, the State Migrant Control Room has contacted the Telangana Government.
Apart from Gumla, workers from Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab are trapped in the tunnel. At present, the NDRF team is engaged in the rescue operation. The control room contacted ALO Nagarkurnool, who informed that the NDRF team has entered the tunnel, but no contact has been established with the workers yet.
