Chandigarh, March 5 -- After a strong warning from Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, a section of tehsildars across the state have started returning to work, defying the mass casual leave protest that began earlier this week. The protest, initiated by the Punjab Revenue Officers' Association, was called against the state Vigilance Department's crackdown on corruption within the revenue department. However, the government responded with swift and decisive measures, issuing an ultimatum to striking officials to return to duty by 5 pm or face immediate suspension.
