Jammu, May 21 -- Jammu & Kashmir Lt-Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday dismissed tainted police officer, Davinder Singh, who was earlier suspended and subsequently charge sheeted by the NIA in a terror case, from service with immediate effect.

Singh was arrested last year on January 11 after he was found travelling in a car along with two terrorists -- Naveed Babu and Altaf on Srinagar-Jammu National Highway. At the time of the arrest he was posted at Srinagar International Airport.

Initially two AK-47 rifles were seized from the car intercepted by police at Mir Bazaar in South Kashmir district of Kulgam. Later, police had also recovered two pistols and another AK 47 rifle from the residence of Singh.
