Shahjahanpur, March 31 -- With self-styled godman Asaram, who is serving a life sentence for rape, securing fresh interim bail, the survivor's father has expressed grave concerns for his family's safety, stating that Asaram "can do anything" to them at any time.
A resident of Uttar Pradesh's Shahjahanpur district, the survivor's father voiced shock over the repeated granting of bail to Asaram and alleged that "he is managing everyone." The victim, who was a minor (16) at the time, was raped at Asaram's Jodhpur ashram in 2013. The Gujarat High Court on Friday granted him temporary bail for three months on medical grounds.
