Ranchi, Jan. 31 -- The Supreme Court on Thursday overturned a Jharkhand High Court ruling to hold that candidates who have qualified the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) or Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) from other states will not be eligible to appear in the recruitment exam for 26,000 assistant teachers' positions in Jharkhand.

The apex court's verdict mandates that only those candidates who have passed the Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test (JTET) will be eligible for the recruitment examination.
