Bhopal, May 20 -- At a joint meeting with traffic police officials, Collector Kaushalendra Vikram Singh on Monday stressed the need for uncompromising safety for schoolchildren, warning school operators of stringent action for any transport-related negligence.
The officials reviewed the transport arrangements of schools in Bhopal. The Collector emphasised that no lapse in children's safety would be tolerated, calling students the "future of the nation".
School operators were directed to appoint transport officers before the commencement of the new academic session. These officers must inspect vehicle fitness, conduct driver screening, and organise orientation programmes, issuing a joint safety certificate.
