NEW DELHI, May 24 -- Students belonging to Uttar Pradesh (UP) staying in boys and girls hostels of Jamia Millia Islamia left for their homes in four special buses arranged by the university on Friday.

"These students were stranded in hostels due to lockdown in view of Covid-19. About 70 students from 40 districts of UP are travelling in buses with final destination being Sultanpur, Ballia, Kushinagar and Bareilley. Each bus has a student group leader to coordinate the journey. Two university guards (ex army personnel) are in each bus along with students," the university said in a statement.
