Lucknow, May 23 -- A devastating storm accompanied by torrential rain and hailstorms ripped through Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday night, claiming at least 45 lives and injuring dozens more across 20 districts. The sudden weather disturbance, which struck with wind speeds reaching up to 80 kilometers per hour, caused widespread chaos in cities like Lucknow, Noida, Ghaziabad, Meerut, and Gorakhpur. Trees, electric poles, and hoardings were uprooted, roads were flooded, and tin sheds and walls collapsed in several localities, resulting in fatal accidents.
