New Delhi, Aug. 20 -- During high-level talks held in New Delhi, the Chinese delegation led by Foreign Minister Wang Yi raised the issue of Taiwan. Responding to the remarks, the Indian side firmly reaffirmed that its position on Taiwan remains unchanged. India emphasised that, consistent with the approach adopted by much of the international community, it maintains economic, technological and cultural ties with Taiwan - a practice that will continue. Indian officials further noted that China itself engages with Taiwan in these same non-political spheres, highlighting the pragmatic nature of such interactions.
