CUTTACK, Nov. 20 -- Cuttack DCP Akhileswar Singh on Tuesday placed Special Squad Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Arjun Kanhar under suspension on charges of corruption.
Reliable sources said that acting on multiple corruption charges levelled against Kanhar, the Commissioner of Police had directed the Cuttack DCP to initiate an inquiry in this connection. After obtaining evidence against the ASI, the DCP suspended Kanhar from his service.
Sources said that besides corruption allegations, Kanhar was also accused of having a nexus with antisocial elements.
