New Delhi, April 14 -- Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Sunday announced that special 'assembly sessions' based on Ambedkar's life, ideas and struggles will be conducted across all the city's government schools during the fortnight-long celebration.

She was speaking after flagging off a walkathon from the Vidhan Sabha to honour the legacy of Dr Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, whose birth anniversary falls on April 14.

The Chief Minister said that the Delhi government is committed to working in line with Dr Ambedkar's principles to ensure equality, access to quality education and healthcare for every citizen. Cabinet Ministers Ashish Sood and Ravindra Indraj Singh were also present during the event.
