India, Feb. 1 -- South Africa has called the public to not panic in view of the two cases of the deadly Nipah virus reported from India, adding that there is "no immediate" risk to the country. The Department of Health said that it was working closely with the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD), which is monitoring the situation as the outbreak evolves. There is "no immediate risk to South Africa and there is no need for the public to panic," the Department of Health said in a statement on Friday.
