Ujjain, June 1 -- Former Union Minister Smriti Irani visited the Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain on Thursday, where she performed worship rituals and offered prayers to Lord Mahakal for the prosperity and well-being of the people of the nation.

Irani entered the temple through the silver gate, where she performed various rituals including abhishek (holy bathing of the deity) and worship. She then proceeded to the Nandi Hall, where, following tradition, she chanted the sacred mantra "Om Namah Shivaya" and whispered her wishes into the ear of Nandi, the temple's revered bull statue.
