Kolkata, July 3 -- In a damaging development for the Mamata Banerjee Government in an election year, the Central Bureau of Investigation has named a senior Trinamool Congress MLA and two Kolkata Municipal Corporation corporators in a supplementary chargesheet concerning the murder of a BJP worker in the 2021 post Assembly election violence.
The chargesheet was filed amid statewide furor over the rape of a Kolkata law student by another Trinamool Congress Chhatra Parishad leader.
The investigating agency has named Paresh Pal a veteran TMC MLA from Maniktalla in North Kolkata apart from Swapan Samaddar senior KMC corporator and a former Mayor-in-Council and his councilor colleague Papiya Ghosh for along with 15 others in the murder case of ...
