India, April 23 -- Uttar Pradesh continues to reel under an intense heat wave as both day and night temperatures remain alarmingly high across the state. With scorching sunlight and dry, hot winds sweeping through the region, life has become unbearable for millions of residents, especially in eastern and western Uttar Pradesh.

The Regional Meteorological Centre in Lucknow has issued an orange alert for Wednesday, warning of extreme heat conditions and unusually warm nights in 40 districts, including Prayagraj, Varanasi, Agra, Jhansi, Banda, and others.

On Tuesday, temperatures in more than 15 districts breached the 40 degrees Celsius mark. In districts like Jhansi, Hamirpur, Orai, and Banda, the conditions were particularly harsh.
