Kolkata, May 17 -- In a yet another judicial setback for Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee her Government has been directed by the Supreme Court to release 25 per cent of dearness allowance to the Bengal Government employees effecting in turn a huge relief for them.
The Supreme Court on Friday directed the Trinamool Congress government to pay 25 per cent DA as interim relief clearly. The Bench of Justices Sanjay Karol and Sandeep Mehta directed the State to clear the pending DA within three months. The matter would be heard in August.
The Supreme Court order would benefit a total more than 10 lakh Government employees and pensioners, Finance Department sources said.
