Batala/Chandigarh, Nov. 20 -- A Shiromani Akali Dal leader was allegedly shot dead on Tuesday and later his legs were chopped off after an altercation with his neighbour in Gurdaspur.

Batala Senior Superintendent of Police Opinderjit Singh Ghuman said that there wasn't any political motive behind the killing of 51-year-old Dalbir Singh Dhilwan who was the vice-president of the SAD"s Gurdaspur unit. He was also a two-time village sarpanch.

It has been learnt that the incident happened at Dhilwan village in Dera Baba Nanak area on Monday evening.
