SUNDARGARH, May 13 -- The Orissa High Court has given an order to Sundargarh police to register a murder case involving death of a girl and start an investigation after about two years of the incident.

Sources said the girl was found dead at her home in 2017 whereas her father claimed that she hanged herself with a scarf. But the mother of the deceased girl had alleged that her husband had killed the deceased after pressing her throat.

The police had registered a UD case at that time and thereafter, the mother of the girl had knocked the door of the HC for justice.

According to sources, Durgamadhav Ekka, a resident of Karamdih village under Sadar police station in Sundargarh had a sour relation with wife Amita Barla.
