Bharadisain, March 3 -- The Social and Minorities Welfare Minister Yashpal Ayra said that the state government has spent Rs 117.05 crore on welfare of the minorities in the last three years. In response to a question by the Dhanaulti MLA, Pritam Singh Panwar the minister said that the state has a minority population of 17.05 lakh. Haridwar has a minority population of 6,73,571 followed by 5,42,342 in Udham Singh Nagar. Dehradun has 2,68,822, Nainital 1,44,178, Pauri 25,981 and Almora 10,135 members of minority communities.

Arya said that a total of 19 schemes are functional in the state out of which 11 are funded by state government, four by Union government and four by the National Minorities Finance Development Corporation.
