DALTONGANJ, June 27 -- Palamu tiger reserve on Thursday got a new carnivore in the rescued tiger of Silli. This tiger was released into this reserve in accordance with the SoP as laid down by the NTCA.

PTR officials are tight lipped about the range or beat where this tiger has been released here. It's all for the sake of the safety of this tiger.

The tiger had travelled a road journey worth little over 170 kms from Silli to PTR in a rescue van.

Deputy director south division of PTR Kumar Ashish told this correspondent the tiger most joyfully leapt forward from the cage once its gate was lifted and sprinted like anything. However after some 25 meters or so the tiger controlled its speed.

Sources said this is the first episode of its kind...
