Lucknow, Nov. 23 -- Going by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's mantra of 'Opportunities in Disaster', the state has registered a record production of sanitiser during the COVID-19 period, setting a new record in revenue generation.
According to the statistics of the Excise department, the distilleries and other small units of the state have not only produced a record quantity of 177 lakh litres of sanitiser from March 24, 2020 to November 15, 2020, they have also generated a record revenue of Rs.137 crore.
As far as the sale of sanitiser is concerned, while 78.38 lakh litres have been sold outside UP, a total of 87.01 lakh litre has been consumed in UP, making it to a total 165.39 lakh litres.
