Chandigarh/Karnal, May 26 -- Amid controversy surrounding BJP Rajya Sabha MP Ram Chander Jangra's recent remarks on women who lost their husband or family members in the Pahalgam terror attack, senior BJP leader and Union Power Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday said that the comments reflected personal opinion and should not be interpreted as the party's stance.
It should be mentioned here that speaking at a district seminar in Bhiwani on the 300thbirth anniversary of Ahilya Bai Holkar, Jangra recently said: "If the women present there, whose husbands were killed, had read the history of Ahilya Bai, no one could have shot their husbands in front of them." The attack occurred on April 22 in the Baisaran Valley near Pahalgam.
